Resolved Question: Why is the media thinking that the Clippers are better than the Lakers?
Wow, the media and the people in general think that one season makes a difference, wow bravo. Face the facts, the Clippers have been around for what? 42 years and yet all they have achieved is nothing in those 42 years. Another thing comparing them to the Lakers? and actually saying that they are on the Lakers level is a kick to the groin. Blake Griffin and the others who were with the Clippers last year think they are celebrities by just being in Los Angeles. The fact is that no celebrities ever attend Clipper games. Even in the future, Celebrities will keep going to Laker games. However now all of a sudden the Clippers they think they belong, it took them 42 years to finally put a contending team together and that is pathetic in its own right. Also it is me or do the Clippers think that they have won like 10 + NBA titles, they act as if they have been together for a long time and won so many championships, fact is that they have none, they haven't won any divisional titles either in 42 years. I read an article where ESPN said that the Clippers are on the same level as the Lakers, this idiots can't face their opinions from the truth and reality. The Los Angeles Lakers have 16 titles, wait make that 17 titles, well take one out coz it was in the old NBL league. However 16 time Champions is what a legacy of a team is, and now all of a sudden the Clippers think they belong. And it is me however players from the Clippers right now think that all of a sudden they are riding it with Chris Paul, however if they exit early in the finals then who will whine? also they traded arguably three of their best players for just one point guard who was greedy and demanded a trade too early. So think before you say the Clippers are better than the Lakers, because reality check they are not, there is a difference between Celebrities attending Lakers games instead of Clipper games and also think again before saying it because IMO in order for the Clippers to be better or on the same level as the Lakers they need to win 16 consecutive NBA Championships.... Think about it. The Clippers think all of a sudden that they can get exposure, however it took them an eternity to do so. The Lakers have the exposure, they have the celebrity power, you see celebs like Chris Tucker, Jack Nicholson and some of the best artists sitting court side at Laker games not at Clipper games, the Clippers have been disgracing the NBA since they came into the league.

Open Question: Lakers or Clippers? better?
This is an essay I made. I did it on either Lakers or Clippers having more talent in the past. Please read parts of it, and voice your opinions. No need to read the whole thing, just some of it. How naïve can one be to believe that the Los Angeles Clippers are now even better than the 16-time NBA championship winning Los Angeles Lakers? Nowadays, NBA basketball fans and players themselves have recently questioned the Lakers’ true potential when compared to their close Staples Center competitor, the Clippers. Although some believe the Clippers are the more formidable team in Los Angeles, I believe, without a single doubt, that the Lakers has proven themselves to be much, much more valuable than the Clippers. Of the 191 times Lakers and Clippers played against each other, 142 games of victories are occupied by the Lakers. The estimated winning percentage of the Los Angeles Lakers is approximately a superior .743; the Clippers’ winning percentage is a dismal .257 of overall history. (http://nbauniverse.com/headtohead/lakersvsclippersalltime.htm). By players, Lakers have the better “Big Three” with Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol, and Andrew Bynum; Clippers, although young, talented, and healthy, are still slowly learning how to cooperate as a well-managed team and giving each player on its roster the same amount of attention he deserves. (http://lakersblog.latimes.com/lakersblog/2011/12/lakers-are-better-than-the-clippers-for-now.html). Lakers have not only the more profound talent, but the capability of teamwork, a major factor of true success in professional basketball. By stats and skill, Lakers have the much greater advantage over the Los Angeles Clippers. Some of you may point out that the Clippers have won two times while the Lakers have prevailed only once this past season. Despite their slight edge of wins, their defensive rating is a high 105.7 points; in other words, they allow their opponents to score more than an average of 47 buckets in a game. The Los Angeles Lakers, on the other hand, allows their opponents to score only a maximum of 99.0 points per game. (http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1017142-power-ranking-every-nba-teams-defense/page/9). Even though the players of the Lakers are aging and slowly reaching retirement, their defense is the 7th best according to the current team defensive ranking of the NBA. The Lakers, over the past few decades, have proven that it age doesn’t matter on the court, but the determination of the heart speaks. My crucial yet final reason as to why the Lakers are significantly better than the Los Angeles Clippers is their extreme abundance of experience. The Lakers have won a total of sixteen championships in their NBA history; Clippers have never made it into the NBA Finals. In fact, they have made it to the playoffs for only three times, and have completed their season with a .500 or higher for only four seasons. (http://sportige.com/nba-no-finals-franchise-history/). The Los Angeles Lakers missed the NBA playoffs for only five times in their franchise history. Despite the many arguments one can provide as to why the Lakers are much better than the Clippers, some still believe that Clippers have more potential in the future of the NBA. Some say that the Clippers would have had the better looking resume if it hadn’t been for their terrible players. Looking at their past rosters, one can see that they had phenomenal players, probably some of the most phenomenal NBA players to ever play the game: Earl Boykins, Elton Brand, Zach Randolph, Eric Gordon, Bill Walton, Danny Manning, and Randy Smith, just to name a few; the Lakers may have had the better roster, but I believe that even if the Clippers had the players that the Lakers had in the past, no one would be so desperate to join their team in the first place. Another now-Clipper fan may argue saying that the Lakers have “The Black Mamba”, a.k.a. Kobe Bryant, whom I believe is still the King of L.A.; another may say that their players are aging and can’t neither shoot nor defend. However, now the hopefully satisfied Clippers have Chris Paul (they better use him well), DeAndre Jordan, and the 2010 Slam Dunk champion Blake Griffin; Chris Paul was wanted by Lakers, but the Chris Paul-Pau Gasol-Lamar Odom trade was killed by the NBA commissioner, David Stern. Pau Gasol ranks as the second best power forward and the second best center as well in the NBA; Blake Griffin, however, is ranked no. 7 as a power forward. Lakers are playing better offensively and defensively not only by professional ranking, but by my point of view. Inevitably, the Clipper nation may be better than the Los Angeles Lakers in the future, but as of right now, the Lakers still have the better talent.

Open Question: What team in the Western Conference do you think will make the NBA Finals this year?

Resolved Question: Do you think that David Stern should be removed as NBA commisioner?
Since Stern's tenure as NBA commissioner began, seven new NBA teams (Charlotte Hornets, Minnesota Timberwolves, Miami Heat, Orlando Magic, Vancouver Grizzlies, Toronto Raptors, and Charlotte Bobcats) were enfranchised. Five NBA franchises (Clippers from San Diego to Los Angeles, Kings from Kansas City to Sacramento, Grizzlies from Vancouver to Memphis, Hornets from Charlotte to New Orleans and recently, the Seattle SuperSonics became the Oklahoma City Thunder) were relocated. Recently, the Sacramento Kings are closely endangered, once again under Stern, to be relocated to Anaheim, California. What I could not understand is this: Why bother did he give seven cities NBA franchises when two of them, the Grizzlies from Vancouver to Memphis, and Hornets from Charlotte to New Orleans and re-enfranchises Charlotte with the Bobcats? Stern too is a hypocrite: years ago, the city of Seattle have spent $74.5 million renovating the Seattle Center Coliseum. In earlier comments it shows Stern praising the facility; now he says that the arena is not “NBA compatible.” Even if the city and the taxpayers do spend more money upgrading KeyArena, it is more likely Stern will still refuse Seattle an NBA franchise.
